Activities & Organizations - High School
Note: For a student to be eligible for activities the student must maintain a 2.0 GPA and/or not have failed two subjects. Requirements for National Honor Society are different, please see activity description for details. All activities are free unless noted in their description.

Concert Band
- Two evening concerts per year - Winter and Spring
- You MUST participate in concert band to be in marching band
- Practices are held during period
- Prior experience or director's approval for instrument required

Drama Club
- Take part in the annual Acting Residency offered in the high school auditorium
- Attend field trips to plays
- Be a part of the plays and/or musicals
- Assistance preparing for auditions
Fee: Fundraisers will be available to offset event fees

Garden Club
- Garden Club teaches students about plant types and care
- Students will keep the plants that they grow
- Field trips are included in the clubs activities
- Meetings are held upon sponsors request

German Club
- The club that bases all activities around German heritage
- Participate in numerous activities throughout the year
Fee: Fundraisers will be available to offset event fees

Health Careers Club
- This activity will help introduce students to the career opportunities available in the health fields
- Attend Health Quest Career Fair
- Opportunities for shadowing a professional or volunteering in a hospital at Health Quest Career Fair
- Charitable projects - 4 blood drives per year, daffodil days, and Race for the Cure
- Meetings are held monthly
- Open to grades 9-12
Fee: Fundraisers will be available to offset event fees

Interact Club
- Interact is a Rotary sponsored service club for secondary school-aged students
- Through Interact, young people develop initiative, leadership skills, and lasting friendships
Fees: Fundraisers are used support activities such as making crafts at a home for the elderly or purchasing gifts for Toys for Tots.

Intramurals
- Powderpuff Football
- Intramural Basketball Assn (IBA)
Fees: Participants may be required to purchase a shirt to be worn durng games

Jazz Band
- Two evening concerts, Spring and Winter, plus several community performances
- Participants require prior experience and directors approval

Marching Band (High School)
- The band performs at all Spartan Football games (home and away), parades, and 3 band festivals annually
- Attend Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida biennially to participate in a parade
- Wednesday after school practices from 3:00-5:00PM are mandatory
- Practices held during and after school
- Prior band experience or director's permission is required to join
- You must be in concert band to be in marching band
Fees: $175 band camp; T-shirt and shoes; Fundraisers will be held throughout the year to help with all fees

National Honor Society

Newspaper (Minaret)
- Produces 4-5 issues each school year
- Meetings are in the communications classroom
- 2-3 meetings per issue
- Most meetings are mandatory

Pep Art Club
- Pep Art paints signs for Spartan events and other school activities
- Meeting in art room as necessary

Spring Play
- Be an actor or actress in the production of the spring play
- Meetings and practices are held in the auditorium after school
- Students must audition for the part they desire
Fees: Students may be required to borrow, purchase or make their own costumes or props. Fundraisers will be held throughout the year to help with all fees.

- Be a part of an organization that makes numerous decisions about the school
- Debate over potential problems occurring in our surroundings

Visual Ensemble
- Visual Ensemble consists of the flags, batons, and rifles you see at parades and half-time shows with the Brentwood Band
- Practices are held in the evenings
- Try outs are held in the spring prior to each season
Costs: Make-up products and warm-ups (optional); $175 band camp; T-shirt and shoes; Fundraisers will be held throughout the year to help with all fees.

Winterguard
- Winter guard has three divisions to the group
- Visual ensemble, Guard, Majorettes and Dance team
- Performances are on Saturdays throughout the year
- Participate in championships at Wildwood, NJ biennially

Yearbook
- Produce the high school yearbook
- Opportunities in different fields are offered - selling yearbooks, selling ads, taking pictures, working on layouts and captions, interviews, etc.
