In order to enter the school building during school hours, you must have your clearances on file with the School District. You will also need your clearances to help for classroom field trips, or do other classroom activities in the school. At this time, both the PA Criminal History Check and PA Child Abuse Check are free of charge when you are a volunteer. There is a place to verify on the applications that you are getting the clearances in order to volunteer at a school. In addition, each volunteer must print and complete the attached Volunteer/Chaperone Disclosure Form (click on the following link for the Volunteer Disclosure form: https://filecabinet9.eschoolview.com/3A7D9D71-FA70-4EDF-80DD-3F86F6129C4D/VolunteerDisclosureForm.pdf) and return the completed form with your clearances to the School Office.
1. For Pennsylvania Criminal History Check:
Click on “New Record Check (Volunteers Only)” to get started.
2. For Pennsylvania Child Abuse Check:
Unless you already have a login with the Child Welfare Portal, you will have to “Create Individual Account”. Once you have created an account on the Portal you can begin entering your information.
YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO SAVE BOTH CLEARANCES AS ADOBE ACROBAT (PDF) DOCUMENTS ONCE THEY ARE RECEIVED. YOU CAN THEN PRINT THE CLEARANCES AS NEEDED FOR ANY ORGANIZATION YOU VOLUNTEER WITH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. *Give a printout of these two clearances to the secretary at the school office where your student attends.
